About me

General

A visitor to our cottages, Malcolm Collins, owns a pre-owned camera company called Camtech based in Cambridgeshire. When I mentioned that I was disappointed with my photographs from Africa he started to show me a Nikon D100. Anyway, to cut a long story short I bought it, together with a few lens and I started taking pictures. That was back in 2005. I said to him at the time that I didn't want Canon as I had bought a small Ixus 500 which lasted about two weeks and Canon wouldn't repair it as they said it had water ingress. That cost Canon a lot of money as I have now spent several pounds with Nixon. Can't say how much as the wife might read this!

In 2006 I joined Kirkbymoorside Camera Club. Didn't have too much success until 2008/2009 season where I won; "Best Aggregate Score for a Projected Image", "Best Natural History Print" and "Best Natural History Image". I also got one of my digital images accepted into the Yorkshire Photographic Union.
